Michigan in 2024: The Michigan Wolverines capped off their season with a strong finish, delivering dominant performances in their final two games against Northwestern and rival and #2 ranked Ohio State. Defensively, the Wolverines excelled in stopping the run, ranking 2nd in the Big Ten and 3rd nationally in rushing defense, allowing just 1,111 rushing yards and 92.6 yards per game. Complementing their successful run defense, Michigan's front seven recorded the 5th most sacks in the Big Ten (31.0) and helped the team rank 15th nationally in total yards allowed per game (310.9).

Wolverines Tradition: The Michigan Wolverines, now in their 144th season, have an all-time record of 1004-353-36, making them the winningest program in college football history and the first team to reach 1,000 wins. The program has achieved 12 national championships and 45 Big Ten Conference titles, the most in the conference. Michigan has produced 88 consensus All-Americans, three Heisman Trophy winners, 10 NFL Hall of Famers, and currently has 56 former players on active NFL rosters.

Wolverines in Bowls: The Wolverines hold a 23-29 bowl record. Their most recent appearance was the 2024 Rose Bowl with an overtime win against Alabama 27-20, and ultimately wond the national championship with a win over Washington 34-13. They have played in the ReliaQuest Bowl six times and are 3-3 in Tampa with their most recent victory in 2003 against Florida.

Featured Players: Michigan's defense was the teams back bone this year. Edge Josaiah Stewart ranks 16th in the nation and is tied for 4th in the Big Ten with 8.5 sacks. He also ranks 4th in the conference in tackles for loss with 13.0. Another defensive standout for Michigan is interior LB Ernest Hausmann, who ranks 5th in the Big Ten for solo tackles with 50 and has 82 total tackles this season. Rounding out Michigan's strong defense is interior DL Mason Graham. A finalist for the Outland Trophy, Graham is the sixth player in program history and the first defensive lineman to be named a finalist for the award. He has had another productive season, ranking fifth on the team and first among defensive linemen with 38 tackles. Graham has recorded 7.0 tackles for loss, the second-highest total on the Michigan roster, and has set a new career-high with 3.5 sacks, all of which have come in Big Ten play.

QB Davis Warren, a senior, was the leader of Michigan's offense for much of the season, recording 1,126 passing yards and 9 touchdowns. One of his favorite targets was TE Colston Loveland, a Junior from Goodling, Idaho. He is 2nd in the Big Ten for receptions by a tight end (56) and 3rd in the Big Ten for receiving yards by a tight end (562). In the game against Oregon, Loveland recorded 7 receptions for 112 yards, the most of a player in a single game this season for Michigan. Loveland was named as one of three finalists for the 2024 John Mackey award.

RB Kalel Mullings is tied for 4th in the Big Ten with 12 touchdowns, averaging 79.0 yards per game and finishing the season with 948 rushing yards. He has not fumbled on any of his attempts. RB Donovyn Edwards rushed for 589 yards and recorded 4 touchdowns this season.

K Dominic Zvada holds the highest field goal percentage in the Big Ten and 4th in the nation going 17 of 18 (94.4%) with his longest FG being 56 yards this season.

Meet The Wolverines Head Coach Sherrone Moore: After the departure of Jim Harbaugh last season, Moore became the 21st head coach of Michigan and first African American coach of the program, finishing with a 7-5 record in his first season with notable wins over USC and Ohio State. Prior to Michigan, he was a tight ends coach for Louisville and Central Michigan before becoming assistant head coach in 2017 for Central Michigan. Moore then became the tight ends coach for Michigan in 2018 and elevated himself to the Offensive Coordinator in 2023. During the 2023 season, Moore also served as the interim head coach for 4 games during Harbaugh's suspension. Moore's coaching resume consists of a big east title in 2012 and BCS Bowl appearance while coaching at Louisville, along with 3 CFP appearances and a national title while coaching at Michigan.
